Warrenton High School Scholarships, Inc.

Warrenton High School Scholarships, Inc. (WHSSI) was founded in 1994 by local parents and community members as the first non-profit scholarship program to provide scholarships to graduating Warrenton High School seniors.  The initial funding came from auctions, dinners, golf tournaments and solicitations from many local businesses and business leaders.

The scholarships are designed to attract and recognize students who have demonstrated academic achievement, service to school, community, and leadership qualities who wish to continue their formal education.  Students must be in good standing with a cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.0 and generally represent good citizenship through contributions of positive school and community activity.

How to Contribute

WHSSI appreciates financial contributions directly to WHSSI at any time throughout the year.  In April students interview and are awarded scholarships, so ideally, contributions made before mid-March each year are most helpful for the current academic year. Contributions to WHSSI are tax deductible.

Non-Dinner Mailer. Each November, WHSSI holds its major fund raiser, the Non-dinner Mailer. This is the dinner you do not have to go to or buy anything at the auction. 100% of your contribution goes to directly to local Warrenton High School graduates. If you are not on the mailing list for this one-of-a-kind event, we would love to add you. Please send us your mailing address: [email protected].

Warrenton High School Theater and Ice Cream Social.  In February, the Warrenton High School Drama Department puts on an evening of theater and WHSSI provides the ice cream for a goodwill donation.  Over the past several years, there has also been a wonderful pie auction that has added to the scholarship fund.

Contribute When You Shop

  • Fred Meyer Rewards Card – Fred Meyer provides a small contribution to WHSSI every time you shop at Fred Meyer.  There is no cost to you.  It’s a way that Fred Meyer gives back to local non-profit organizations.  Go to https://www.fredmeyer.com/topic/community-rewards-4/ and link your Fred Meyer Rewards Card to Warrenton High School Scholarships, Inc.

    • Fred Meyer Community Rewards is an easy way for local non-profits to receive donations from Fred Meyer Stores. Customers earn these donations for their favorite nonprofits by shopping with their Rewards Card. Fred Meyer will donate over $2 million to nonprofits in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington every year through this program. Here’s how it works:

    • Link your Rewards Card to your favorite nonprofit, just log in to your online account and click on Community Rewards at the bottom of the web page to get started linking your card.
    • Whenever you use your Rewards Card when shopping at Freddy's, you’ll be helping the nonprofit linked to your Rewards Card earn a donation from Fred Meyer.  At the end of each quarter, Fred Meyer will make a donation to participating nonprofits based on the accumulated spending of the Rewards Customers linked to each nonprofit.
