Mr. McClure Bio
Hello, I am Mr. McClure. I am the band and choir director at Warrenton Grade School and High School. In other words, I am a very busy person. I service about 230 students everyday in grades 5 through 12. This is my 5th year at Warrenton and I am proud of how strong the music programs are. I hope to have them continue to grow in terms of participants, as well as improve musically every year. My goal is that all students have the chance to participate in music and develop an appreciation for it.
I am from Northern California, the far north part in the redwoods. My brother and I are identical twins, so there is another Mr. McClure out there. I started playing French Horn in grade school and caught the music bug. My music teacher was very supportive and encouraged my love of music and also my interest in being a teacher. I attended Rocky Mountain College and received a B.A. in Music Education. While there I also received my private pilots license. Oh, and I met my wife. She was a music performance major, so she helps out whenever possible, especially with the choirs. We have a lovely daughter named Annie who loves music and even has her own trumpet. If you hear some interesting notes during pep band it might be her (she’s only 3, so that is understandable). In my spare time I manage to help out with our two horses and go for walks with the family. Someday I will be able to fit in some fishing. I currently play in the North Coast Symphonic Band, Columbia River Symphony, and Nutcracker Orchestra.
